For a typical small business site, the final pre-launch phase covered by this checklist takes one to two focused days if the site itself is finished. The most common mistake is compressing it into the last hour before going live.
What is the most commonly missed launch step?
Two tie for first place: forgetting to turn off the "Discourage search engines" setting in WordPress (which quietly blocks Google), and skipping 301 redirects from old page URLs, which throws away rankings the old site already earned.
